Performance

Fuel-Efficient MIVEC Engines

With the Lancer's MIVEC engines, performance and fuel economy don't have to meet in the middle. Start with the 2.0 liter, 148-hp engine in the DE and ES. Take it a step further with 2.4 liter,168-hp performance in the SE and GT. Or go all the way with the RALLIART's 237-hp MIVEC turbocharged, intercooled engine. Whichever you choose, you'll still save at the pump with gas mileage that starts at an impressive 34 mpg** highway.

Advanced Transmissions

When it comes to Lancer transmissions, you have nothing but good options. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) in the ES, SE, and GT features an INVECS-III control system that transitions seamlessly to the most effective and efficient gear ratio, delivering maximum performance and great fuel economy. Want even more power and control? With the TC-SST in the RALLIART you can relax in a traditional automatic mode or take full control with the magnesium paddle shifters located behind the wheel. In either case, gear-to-gear shifting occurs faster than any human can react with a traditional stick shift—offering the ultimate performance on any road.

Sport-Tuned Suspensions

Years of experience on the rally circuit laid the foundation for the Lancer's remarkably smooth, road-hugging suspension. Top-rated McPherson struts up in front perfectly complement the independent multi-link system in the rear, while the flat front subframe eliminates flexing and bending to minimize the effect of bumps and potholes. The end result? Superb handling in nearly any road condition.

All-Wheel Drive

Get the ultimate in control. Mitsubishi's All-Wheel Control (AWC comes standard on SE and RALLIART models) is a revolutionary technology designed to improve handing in challenging conditions. It continually monitors the road and intelligently transfers power and braking to the wheels with the most traction. Whether you're driving on snow or ice, or simply demand topline performance on tight corners, AWC has you covered.

Rigid Chassis

The Lancer brings you the same rock-solid body as the legendary Lancer Evolution. Stamped from a single piece of steel and reinforced in critical areas, it provides extreme bending and torsional strength that ensures a smooth ride, level handling around corners and excellent durability over time.

Lancer Ralliart's TC-SST Transmission

With the twin-clutch technology in the TC-SST transmission, you get blinding acceleration and complete control of your drive. Take it easy with an automatic that shifts more quickly and smoothly than a conventional transmission. Or take charge with the magnesium paddle shifters mounted behind the wheel. Shift up or down with a flick of your thumbs—just like a professional rally racer. You can also choose between three driving modes depending on the terrain—or your mood.

Appearance

Aggressive Design

Aggressive Design

With its chrome grille, parabolic fog lamps and swept forward hood, the Lancer makes a bold statement even standing still. But many of the details also help the Lancer perform on the go. For example, the angled front bumper not only looks aggressive, it also increases airflow under the body, giving you improved stability at high speeds and better fuel economy too.

Standard Side Skirts & Available Exterior Package

Standard Side Skirts & Available Exterior Package

The Lancer simply doesn't have a bad side. Side skirts come standard on every model and lower the car's profile for a rally-inspired look. You can also indulge your DE, ES, or SE with the exterior package: exhaust finisher, fog lamps, rear spoiler and front bumper extensions that enhance both the length and lines of the Lancer's already sporty exterior.

Lightweight Aluminum Hood

Lightweight Aluminum Hood

Form, meet function. The RALLIART features a vented, heat extraction hood that increases airflow through the engine compartment to improve acceleration and performance. It's also made of lightweight aluminum so that it lowers the car's center of gravity for better handling on all terrain. Its aggressive design also adds a signature detail to the RALLIART'S impressive front end.

18-inch Alloy Wheels

18-inch Alloy Wheels

The newly redesigned and lighter 18-inch wheels do more than even out the Lancer's sleek profile. They also provide more road-gripping rubber to improve traction in almost any situation.

Bold Lighting Design

With the Lancer's integrated lighting design, you'll make a statement both coming and going. The sharply angled headlights boldly announce your arrival, especially when fitted HID projector headlamps, available in the GT or RALLIART Touring Package.

Safety & Warranty

10-Year 100,000-Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty*

The engine, transmission and other powertrain components are covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. To keep you on the road, Mitsubishi also offers a 5-year, 60,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty and a 7-year, 100,000-mile anti-corrosion perforation limited warranty.

* All coverage terms are from the original in-service date. The 10-year/100,000 mile Limited Powertrain Warranty applies only to the original owner of new, retailed 2012 models purchased from an authorized Mitsubishi retailer. Subsequent owners receive the balance of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 5 years/60,000 miles. See retailer for limited warranty and roadside assistance terms and conditions.

Active Stability Control‡

The standard Active Stability Control (ASC) system constantly monitors traction between the tires and the road. On detecting slippage or a loss of control, ASC alerts the control unit, which applies the brakes on individual wheels to help keep the vehicle moving in your intended direction.

‡ Safety is a two-way street. It requires your attention and cooperation. Please remember to fasten your safety belt, drive responsibly and obey all traffic laws.

Anti-Lock Braking System‡

Eclipse Spyder's anti-lock braking system (ABS) works with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to add control in hard braking situations - varying the distribution of braking force between front and rear during quick stops to minimize the chance of wheel lockup. These technologies also enable simultaneous braking and turning, helping you to maintain control during sudden stops.

Outstanding Crash Test Performance

A strong unibody chassis ties the front and rear suspension together for improved cornering. Its platform is reinforced with high-strength steel, and additional cross members in the dash area and cabin floor help maintain cabin rigidity in the event of a collision.

Seven Standard Airbags**

The Eclipse Spyder's advanced airbag safety system delivers outstanding occupant protection, with four airbags (front, front-seat-mounted side, and front-seat mounted head/thorax side-impact) positioned per extensive crash testing and simulation at the proving grounds.

** Airbags are part of a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). To decrease the risk of injury from a deploying airbag, always wear your seatbelt, sit upright in the middle of the seat and do not lean against the door. Always place children 12 and under in the rear seat and use appropriate child restraints. Never place a rear facing infant restraint in the front seat. See your owner's manual and instructions provided with your child restraint for additional information.
